According to the United Nations Environment Program, a green job “contributes substantially to preserving or restoring environmental quality. Specifically, but not exclusively, this includes jobs that help to protect ecosystems and biodiversity; reduce energy, materials, and water consumption through high efficiency strategies; de-carbonize the economy; and minimize or altogether avoid generation of all forms of waste and pollution.”

We believe that everything from manufacturing to software development can be included in the Green Business category. It’s about intent. It’s a statement of commitment to clean up our acts, brining in new ideas and leave old habits behind without looking back.

Because of that, there is no reason any company shouldn’t feel conformable posting jobs in the Green Jobs Database. Like individuals, no company is perfect and breaking old habits can be difficult. Our goal is to get you to start thinking about how you can be a more environmentally friendly business. If you’re a traditional green business you’ll find yourself right at home here, but if you’ve stumbled on this database and think you just might have a potentially green position to post, then we’ve done our job.
